Leaking Meat Juices, and Unsubscribe Doesn't Work

The deal seemed too good to be true, so I tried it. And I've never been so disappointed. I'm going to try to keep my feelings out of this tho' and give you a facts-only review. The first box arrived, and the vegetables and condiments (although limited mostly to starchy roots with an occasional Roma tomato, or a very small English cucumber) were fresh. However, when I removed the top box, I was met with a gooey mess of chicken breast juice that had leaked out of the sealed bag. The ice was also mostly melted in the bags, so I was a little iffy about eating that meat. I made sure to cook it thoroughly, since I've suffered for three days with salmonella poisoning, and I don't ever want to go through that again!
I sent feedback about the product through Chat, and got an apology, and an $11 credit toward my next box.
The second box was fine, but the third one had the same problem—not only was the chicken juice leaking out, there was all kinds of bloody mess from the hamburger bag! YUCK.
This time I called, and the poor customer service person apologized profusely and promised it would never happen again. The third box was fine, but... the fourth one was the last straw. I was done. D-O-N-E.
Now came the "Unsubscribe." Yes, they stopped the shipments (although my next box was mostly paid for with all the "discounts" they had piled on. But that box had a bloody gooey mess at the bottom, too.
I threw that meat away, and kept the carrots and potato and condiment packets. More chat, more feedback. An email to the company who promptly told me to fill out a complaint online and not to bother the parent company (HelloFresh) with it's subsidiary (Everyplate) complaints - And this after the Chat person GAVE ME their email!
Okay. I went online and unsubscribed from their emails. All of them. But noooooo... suddenly I'm getting emails saying, "Come back! We'll give you a bigger discount!" Every time I tried to unsubscribe, it assured me that I'd been unsubscribed from all emails. LIES. I used chat, I used feedback. I used online feedback. And I called. Now, I've just hung up with a very sweet and patient CR who had to listen to me carry on about what a horrible company she works for. Basically, I kept apologizing to her for having to tell her all this, and that I knew that she was not at fault, but I had no one else to tell this to. She listened, without interrupting, and was patient with me. Then she assured me that she had gone "deeper" into the account and seen that I hadn't been unsubscribed from daily emails, from "come back" emails, from Hello Fresh emails, and three other email lists!
What a horrible company! Not only do they not listen, when you unsubscribe, they keep sending you MORE AND MORE EMAILS! So beware. Hopefully you'll enjoy good food (but I have to say the recipes are mediocre, and carb-filled). Also too much alike. Never a green thing in sight in their boxes, except broccoli florets, which you'll pay extra for, or an occasional zucchini. Anyway, hopefully you won't have the same problems I did, but... if you did, at least you were warned! Okay. Better Business Bureau review is next. And then google reviews, and and and. If enough of us speak out, maybe they'll get their act together. Maybe.

Just go to the store

Ordered extra steak, never received it. One entire box was lost and the ingredients used are all very basic. A lot of cheese, cheap veggies and chicken.

In 4 weeks I have only had one incident…

In 4 weeks I have only had one incident where I was sent pork for a fish recipe. They immediately gave me credit for the entire meal and told me to experiment with the extra pork. The recipes are delicious although almost everyone of them has garlic, good thing I like garlic.

Great, especially for busy people

Honestly such a great service when you are living alone and you don't have to think about shopping and cooking for one. I just eat the same thing for lunch and dinner. Plenty of food for me.

I love having everyplate meals on hand. It’s great to have a meal option all ready to make without having to go out for the groceries and I’ve found that even meals I’m skeptical about are still delicious!

Excellent, but...

Excellent, quick to prepare recipes that taste great! Ingredients are usually of high quality, however, I question some of the labeling on the meats. For example, boneless chicken breast tenderloins were actually white trim meat from the breast area. Additionally, there were some bones in the product that were from the wings. If they correct those supplier issues, they will get the 5-star rating.

It's fine

It's fine. They don't understand seasoning really and carrots are simply not a side. I rarely follow the recipe accurately. It's more of a grocery delivery with suggested options for me.

My order did not arrive

My order did not arrive. I received an original email saying that there might be weather issues and the order might be delayed. An entire week later I had received no update and it was still not here and no tracking info was available. When I called EveryPlate, they apologized and refunded me the amount I had been charged. I found it odd that no one had contacted me to let me know that my order was simply not going to arrive. The following week, (this week), my order arrived on time but the meat had leaked into the cold container and a jalapeno pepper was laying in the meat blood and it was soggy and unusable. The recipes and food have been fairly good so far but the delivery needs some help.
